After months of speculation, Saturday the 19th of May the dress was finally revealed as the couple said I do in front of 11 million people. Conde Nast Brides editor and author of The Almost Wife, Jade Beer gives us her view on Meghan's dress on the big day

"Meghan's Givenchy dress was masterfully cut by designer Clare Waight Keller, It's exclusive silk cady fabric developed after extensive research in European Mills. Its makers had to wash their hands every 30 minutes, to keep it pristine and it will likely end up in a museum, becoming a symbol of the finest design and craftsmanship from this era. Just like any bride-to-be lucky enough to have a couture dress made especially for her, Meghan will have challenged her designer to bring her dress fantasies to life. The result is a wedding dress that is every bit as simple as it appears to be and is all about the construction and fabric without all the showiness that many were expecting. Many women I’m sure will look at this dress and feel it is the definition of chic understatement.’
