1.LAY ALL YOUR CLOTHES OUT ON YOUR BED BEFORE YOU PACK...

If you're anything like me you have a tendency to want to bring too many things.  The secret of a good pack is a good edit.

2. CHOOSE FOOTWEAR WISELY

I love you wedges but sadly you can't come on holiday this year as you're too heavy and take up too much room in my carry-on. Clothes always seem to take a fraction of space, but choosing your shoes is a tough one. Do you pack running trainers (you maintain you will run but never do) or do you opt instead for going out heels?  If you’re dancing all night then you'll be scrapping the run anyway!

3. CONSIDER THE TEMPERATURE OF WHERE YOU ARE GOING

There is nothing worse than packing for the heat and arriving somewhere considerably colder than you anticipated having packed nothing more than a strappy top. I'm a big fan of a cashmere throw which means you can take it on the flight but also use it for those chillier evenings when the sun goes down.

4. CHOOSE A BAG WITH A GOOD ZIP

All of our Eddie Harrop travel bags have 8mm zippers which mean they are bullet proof when it comes to that time where perhaps your edit hasn't gone quite to plan and everything still needs to fit!

5. DON'T FORGET YOUR PASSPORT

It sounds obvious, but if you don't remember it, you'll be crying all the way home.

6. BE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT ADAPTOR

I must have one thousand adaptors at home.  I always forget to pack them, having to buy one at the airport or be told by my hotel they don't have a UK one.  A Venezuelan adaptor just won’t work!

7.THE DREADED WEIGH IN

With airlines having different luggage weight and size restrictions, it becomes very confusing.  Check with your airline before you travel as it can be painful to fork out the cost of an entirely new holiday just for a couple more kilogams of luggage.

8. HAND LUGGAGE

Our Eddie Harrop 'Voyager' bags hold everything you need for a weekend away or a summer hop meaning you can skip through the airport with carry-on and avoid the bag scrap at the carousel.  We have also designed the ‘Cruiser’ bag, which is a spacious tote with enough room to carry plenty of magazines and necessities with a special pocket for your passport.

9. ORGANISE YOUR LIQUIDS AT HOME

If I'm not checking a bag in, I always do this at home and place them on top of my hand luggage. I've undoubtedly got hand luggage in one hand and my phone in the other so the less admin at the airport the better.

10. AIRPORT CATWALK....

There may not be paparazzi waiting at the airport, but comfortable doesn't have to be unstylish.   A crisp white shirt, or a fresh white T teamed with a wide leg jersey pant and your favourite sneakers can really pop against one of our stylish carry-on bags.
